One day my friend was told he had cancer, not only the cancer but one that is vicious and kills, and isn't usually curable. Upon hearing this all I could manage was to get the car to the side of the road and sit still - my heart was crushed, my tears just flowed, there was no way to control the anguish. Those are tears of sadness, they are real tears but I have found God finds a way to turn those tears into tears of, joy. My Grandma basically raised me, my real father left when I was two, never saw him again that I know of; so Grandma raised me, when she passed over, it was an enormous blow to me; she had been the backbone of my life, someone that when everybody else said it couldn't be done, Grandma never lost faith in me, then she was no more. Those tears were tears of sadness and sorrow; and there is a bit more to that tale, for another time, but today; Grandma is in a place that I can't understand because it is loaded with love, real love- no sin- no missing the mark- as God proclaims it to be, so it is, Grandma is in heaven. Now how do I know that, and what makes that such an assurance to me, that I will see Grandma again in heaven, after all, I sin? Every single day I miss the mark- how about you? So if it was sinless existence that were any kind of key to eternal joy- I wouldn't have it? God, on the other hand, knows exactly what my human condition is like, because, God did a stint here on earth, His creation, as a man, His Son- God became flesh- so that now, I know, He knows, and it's not going to stop Him from saving me! Oh what a savior- oh what tears of sadness are turned into tears of joy...and my friend with cancer- well, that's another story, but the tears of sadness- they become, tears of joy. So today if you are challenged to be less than loving, don't be, be love. Be absolutely certain that those whom you love know you love them, and be absolutely certain that you know in your heart, you are loved, this day, I love you.
