Perceptive observers of human behavior watch for something called a "tell," it is a small gesture of behavior which gives a person away, we discussed this some segments back, when we discussed "The Count of Monte Cristo," who had a tell of reaching for his hair behind his ear and twirling it; a small gesture which significantly gives him away. So it is with hidden agenda's and people who foist them upon others, they have a tell in the action; you just have to perceive it. For example one of my friends loves to play hidden power games, what these are involve a setup of communication whereby with the giving and taking of communication, my power tripping friend exerts control and gains a sense of dominance of the relationship. This isn't unusual, and people are trained today, especially in the United States, to communicate in this "in your face," method. What is unfortunate is that the Holy Spirit conflicts most heartily with this and it puts them at odds with their own heart and the truth. What does a person do in such a situation where they sense that not only are they being manipulated, but, they are also being put on display to the manipulators advantage (or so they think). Is the Bible mute on such things? You'd suspect not, wouldn't you? Here is an interesting statement made by a very interesting person in the Bible:
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body.
