Easy Does It

Where do we get the idea that being a follower of Christ is going
to mean being an outsider? Let me give you an example, show me
in the New Testament where it says to avoid parties? Yes, I agree
Paul made it plain that you have to be careful how you act, yet
Paul was addressing specific situations in a time and place that no
longer exists, with a people and culture that no longer exist, and
as a result to adapt such to our modern world and then hold to
it as law is dangerous. Women aren't viewed the same way today
as they were then, children aren't viewed the same way today as they
were then, and our entire culture is different by enormous variety
from the culture that Paul wrote into. Be that as it may, you do in
some instances have to exercise caution, but the difference between
a cautious drink of wine between friends, and getting bombed out of
your mind, is the cultural thing today! It is the excess that is the killer
of the soul, and it is the excess which can become prey to those who would
seek to defile you as a follower of Jesus. The precautions are in need of
an updating, and yet, we've closed that process off completely, and some
have buried their heads so far into the sand that they do not even realize
that a world is changing under their feet, a world which will soon not
resemble anything that has existed before in so many ways. What is
the answer then? Perhaps we need to take a longer look at the idea and
principle of Christ in His ministry, consider the missionary stances of Paul
in his writings, and then, apply prayer and caution to our decision today.
A new priority might emerge that would serve God better than the one
that is in place at present, but it would be a very cautious process and
it would be one that might reignite the slumbering masses who have
turned to ignoring the unreal worship of Jesus they have beheld?
Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause
divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine
which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Per Signum Crucsis (By The Sign of the Cross)
De Inimicsis Nostre (From our Enemies)
Libera Nos, Deus Noster (Deliver us, our God)
In Nomine Patris (In the name of the Father)
Et Filii (and of the Son)
Et Spiritus SAncti (and of the Holy Spirit)
Amen
