Do you like feeling loved? Perhaps you aren't in that place right
now where you do? Isn't that a sad place, to not feel love, but
some people are in that place, they don't have someone they know who
loves them. They don't know the sort of savior who would do what
our savior does, in order to love them, so they don't feel love.
These people may feel something, in other words they have feelings,
they have even, love feelings, but it is the sort of love that says
that the world has to be on an even keel. What scares me is all the
preaching I hear today about balance- that's very scary theology and
very scary thinking to me, you see, I don't see balance anywhere in the
Bible? I see faith, and in faith, balance isn't part of the deal.
It's laughable to me that preachers today want to consider dulling
down the faith, can't you see Joseph saying to the Angel, "well now
wait just a sec, you know, I'll be out of balance if I go ahead
and love this girl when she is pregnant and not by me? Where is the
balance in my life there?" Oh yeah, that's balance alright- and we
aren't even getting into Mary yet, just Joseph, but the real
subject, as we said before, isn't Joseph and Mary at all, it's you.
See you are seeing them, you are seeing Jesus, but Jesus continually
says to you, it isn't about Him, it is about you. Jesus knew who He
was, do you know who you are?
People today are so quick to condemn great leaders because they don't
even listen to what they are saying, they don't take the time to read
what they are proposing, instead, they just jump on the media bandwagon
that talks about, you guessed it, balance, and then they start parroting
whatever the media has pumped into their heads, and the pulpits of this
land are backing them! It is scary, can't you see Joseph saying to the
angel, "Oh no, there is no way, why Pax Romana guarantees me the right
to have my villages marital laws fulfilled! I listen to the law, and I
seek balance and proper social acceptance in my life- she's gotta be
stoned." There'd be no reprieve for Mary were Joseph listening to the
media of today, they'd say for at least two weeks worth of dumbed down
news cycles; "why how could she have become pregnant? Sure it was God,
nobody saw this God, nobody knows of this, we've sent out our best
reporters, they've come back with the story from the village, where the
people are all living well balanced Pax Romana (Roman Peace) lives,
and these witnesses report, she's lying!" Tell me about what you think
because I'm telling you, these are far scarier times than folks want
to admit to. The savior was about to be born, and thank goodness
in keeping with the news cycle media madness of the day, he did it
like they expected it.
