Beaten nearly to death on more
than one occasion- left off the
face of the earth at sea in storms
that would have scared most
people away for good, viciously
lied about in his ministry, and
treated like an outcast by his
own people- Paul undoubtedly
knew what it was to be in trouble,
wouldn't you agree? Even
non Christian atheistic types
have to respect Paul because
they know in their guts if
someone grabbed them out of
their house and dragged them
half naked through the
streets and then plastered them bent over onto a tree
stump in the town sqaure and proceeded to beat the livin'
daylights out of them- they'd lose their obstinant ways
in a hurry- and so would I, and so likely would many who
lie like a big dog when they claim they wouldn't! Being
beaten nearly to death, at that point, my friend, you either
really believe what you are told they "will stop the pain if
you will just say you don't"- or, your insane? It's one of
those two, and my atheists that I pray for every day- aren't
to the best of my knowledge, insane- in fact many of them
are just scientists who seem to have a problem with the
genius of a fellow scientist such as Stephen Hawking-
but when it comes down to Paul- it seems to me that
they might get gravel in their mouth- and have to admit-
however painfully, that there, by God was a man! A real
flesh and blood, furiously and enormously talented,
hugely and gloriously studied, man- and a man, who
knew Jesus! So when the atheists start in on you about
how dumb you are for believing in God- go down that
path with Paul who said "I will become all things that
I might by whatever means, win some to the Lord!"
Dude - that's pretty BOLD
One of the guru's that I follow in the social
media industry told me to take them off my mailing
list on this devotional because they didn't like
reading it. Now I'm deliberately not going to
mention who that was, and hide the identity of
them, but this is a person that does work that
is respected by me- it would be like someone
telling a master plumber not to plumb their
house because they didn't like the work, or
telling a painter they don't like the art- it's
not just that, it's the emotional chords that
get twanged from that- can you understand that
it cut- cut deep- NOW, there are two choices
there- run from it- deny it, or improve it-
make it more meaningful, until the person one

people who oppose what
you believe- think
of the writer of Proverbs;
it is meant- not
just for their time, as lies
and people who got ill gotten
gain were always shown the
dreadful end that eventually

loving even when others aren't. Stand your
ground and be true to your Christ, even when
others don't seem to get that you are- you
follow your Jesus- as He stipulates that you
should, and then, nothing else will put
that sandy gravelly feeling in your mouth!
Don't know about you but chocolate tastes
a whole lot better than gravel?
