RRR_discipling-Feedback

A popular phrase in our culture, 2025 is feedback, which is, I guess responding to inquiries or answering questions or stating an opinion about a situation, I bet you're in. So when we're talking about disciples and we're talking about, remember; remember? The Times When feedback was positive for you? Remember the times when feedback was negative for you and remember the times when someone gave you feedback that was just extremely useful and remember the times when people gave you feedback, but it was useless.
What feedback really worked for you, what feedback did something for you that was beneficial? And what feedback did something for you that wasn't worth 2 cents in a spit storm? Feedback in a sense is essential in communication if instruction is all one way, but then it really isn't working?
Remember that they were out in the desert and Jesus was talking with the disciples and he had just told Peter, how good they had done and how proud he was of this rock like faith that he had? And then Peter spouted off about Jesus, in a way that Jesus knew it was the devil inside of Peter and he turned around and what did He say to Peter, get behind me satan? And you know, to look at Peter and say that, after just having been in that high point, do you think that was really beneficial feedback?
Now, before you say, no; stop and think, do you think Peter forgot that? Jesus and Peter are talking at the last supper and Jesus says Peter, yeah, I'm telling you before this?
Night's over. Before the cock crows, you're gonna 3 times say you don't even know me, you're gonna deny me 3 times you're gonna say you don't even know me? Peter was absolutely destroyed by that because he denied that it could happen, not me.
Lord, I will never deny you. And yet, what happened? Do you think that was feedback that Peter ever forgot.
Was it useful feedback?
Um, look, I guess what? I'm getting at is this.
I didn't like all The Times that Dr. Taylor it said something to me that was just way over my head in terms of depth in terms of the Bible in terms of worship. But later on it would come ringing back to me and I loved Dr. Taylor because his teaching method was presence and feedback, he stayed after class to talk and to find out what we felt and to ask us questions about how we felt. Now let's bring this quickly forward to your learners.
Your disciples that you're carrying back to Jesus back to Jesus back to Jesus.
The feedback that you give them. The things that you say to them are incredibly important, but remember that there is a way to say things and a way to not say things. So say them the way that you know that you want them to be said so that your learner can benefit from them in the most high way? I would say, say to them, like you're talking to Jesus, I think, that's what Paul says in Ephesians, when he's talking to husbands about wives and when I finally let that sink into my life, my wife can tell you in the last few years I've not communicated with her like I did previously, why? Because I look at her and I see Jesus, and I wouldn't dare spout off to the master, like, I used to sometimes do with her.
Think about it and remember that your disciples love you as much as you love them.
We hope let's all love one another. For what was our Lord's command that we would be known? How? By the way, that we love one another.
